Are you a student or recent graduate with a desire to get some real world experience in the area of User Experience Design?
Encyclopaedia Britannica is looking for enthusiastic candidates to assist our product development teams in shaping the user interface of Britannica's consumer and school and library web sites.
As an UX intern at Encyclopaedia Britannica, you will:
- Gain knowledge and familiarity with site conception and strategy
- Gain familiarity with the UX documentation and applications
- Help plan validation testing (writing test scripts, creating measurements of success, analysis of results, etc.)
- Conduct user research (heuristic evaluations, interviews, competitive studies, content analyses, remote testing, card sorts, etc.)
- Support UX staff with IA documentation creation (sitemaps, wireframes, use cases, user flows, specifications, etc.)
- Help define technical requirements and create interaction models and prototypes
Required Skills:
- Recently completed or currently enrolled in a recognized college or university program in information design, human-computer interaction, library science, or cognitive science
- Preference will be given to students who have completed courses in interaction design, information design, information architecture and usability
- Have some prior work experience in website or software development
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Excellent communicative, collaborative, interpersonal skills
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prepare IA documentation (site architectures, wire frames, use cases, task flows, etc.) to be used by a production team
- Previous design experience a plus
- Must be able to commit 20 to 30 hours per week for approximately three months
