TandemSeven is hiring a FRONT-END ARCHITECT - Chicago

TandemSeven is a privately held, self-financed consulting company that designs and architects business portals and custom e-business applications. We specialize in creating usable, intuitive interfaces for complex applications.

TandemSeven is hiring a Front-End Architect in the Chicago area to assist our clients in the development of next generation Rich Internet Applications. Our consultants provide a wide variety of services including Front-End web application development, prototyping, framework selection, and training. In this position, you will be a trusted advisor to our clients and will work as part of a cross-disciplinary TandemSeven team to ensure the success of our projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Front-End architecture for interactive, data heavy, business applications
• Develop Front-End code based on wireframes, visual design comps, and screen specifications
• Create interactive prototypes for user testing and demonstrations
• Integrate front-end code with a variety of server side frameworks
• Advise clients on Front-End technical strategy, UI framework selection
• Mentor others on best practices for Front-End web development

Skills

• Javascript / AJAX / DOM Expert - Ability to code JavaScript from scratch. Also very familiar with at least one JS library like YUI or Sencha
• HTML / CSS Expert - Must be able to rapidly translate PhotoShop design comps into production quality HTML, CSS, and web graphics
• Cross-Browser - Code must work cross browser including Internet Explorer 6-9, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari
• Performance - Ability to create a speedy and responsive UI is critical
• Integration - Comfortable working and integrating Front-End code within Java/JSP and .Net environments
• Team Player - Collaborate closely with our cross-disciplinary team. Willingness and ability to put in the extra effort to support our client's needs

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Java development is desired
• BSCS degree or CS concentration is a plus

Be prepared to take a coding test to assess your proficiency in the skills listed above.

Travel

• Candidate should be comfortable with occasional travel as client engagement requires
• Candidates may work from home or client offices as required
