Summary
The Senior User Experience Designer is central to the development of interactive
initiatives at AbelsonTaylor. The Senior UX Designer possesses the ability to guide the
user experience of both online and offline applications through the various stages of
development, including user interface strategy, requirements gathering, user research,
site map creation, wireframing, usability testing and final quality assurance.
The Senior UX Designer has extensive knowledge and experience in solving usercentered
design problems along with managing business expectations, technology
constraints, project timelines and delivery dates. The Senior UX Designer is also
involved in usability testing, either as a moderator or observer.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute innovative user interface design concepts that drive award winning interactive experiences
• Lead user experience in areas such as social media, mobile devices, search, personalization, emerging technologies, and web and desktop applications
• Create and manage user experience deliverables including: cutting edge interface designs, user personas, page schematics/wireframes and usability testing
• Collaborate and/or mentor the brand creative teams to move the digital process forward and deliver breakthrough interface design
• Work closely with a team of Interactive Strategists, Developers, Producers and Account Services to develop the strategy and user interface experience for a wide variety of projects
• Collaborate with Information Architect to lead the user interface portion of projects and team meetings

Core Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in user experience design and interaction design
• Several examples of successfully launched projects which demonstrate strategic, conceptual and creative thinking
• A solid understanding and demonstration of user centered design principles
• Demonstrated ability to lead the design of large and complex systems of interactions
• A good understanding of what types of experiences are made possible by current digital technologies
• Able to develop simple and elegant design approaches to complex design problems
• Able to collaborate actively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills, analytical and leadership skills
• Ability to communicate business strategy and branding issues, and to balance these with creative excellence, user goals, technology limits and budgetary boundaries
• Ability to keep a positive attitude and handle change, work independently, prioritize, find solutions to problems and a strong attention to detail
• Solid writing and presentation skills
• Fluency in standard design software tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle)
• Able to create high fidelity prototypes in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or Flash Additional Desirable Talents and Skills
• Programming experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ActionScript or Java
• Experience in brand strategy or advertising
• Experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare advertising a plus
